A little bit about Dr. Sarah, the therapist behind MindWander

I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself and what you can expect from MindWander. I’m a licensed therapist in two states and I have a PhD in clinical psychology. I graduated with my doctorate in 2011 and completed two years of training at Harvard Medical School/McLean Hospital. I’ve been a professor in a psychology department for the last seven years and I also work with people individually in my private therapy practice. 

I tell you these things not to try to impress you but because I want you to know that I’m committed to the highest standards in my work. See, one of my goals for MindWander is to give you information and strategies based on science. I see so many “strategies” and “information” posted online that I know have no research support behind them. It makes me so upset to think of people wasting time and money on pseudo science and pop psychology! 

What you can expect from MindWander is information you can trust and strategies that really work. I like to get creative with how I teach these skills, but they will always be grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the gold standard therapy intervention for most symptoms.

Let me tell you a little more about why I created MindWander and how I think it could help you. 

Because of years of experience working with women dealing with anxiety, stress, and depression, I know it can be a struggle to make your mental health a priority. Therapy can be expensive and hard to fit into a busy schedule. When it’s delivered right to your door, it’s hard to ignore!

MindWander lets me bring some of the cognitive behavioral therapy I do with my in-person clients to you, in a fun and engaging format!
